How Can you Help Others by Taking a TEFL CourseOver I million lives touched But it does mean that your participation on our courses will directly support someone that needs help. Here are just a few of the projects we support: Free English classes: Part of any good TESOL certificate course is the opportunity to teach real students. Many schools teach their own paying customers! At TEFL International we offer these courses for free and often work in he local school system. Just one of our schools, our headquarters in Ban Phe, Thailand, offered 1,600 hours of free English classes to the community and these classes were attended by approximately 24,000 students in 2004 alone! Community Support through ESLWith the help of our departments such as Oregon Institute of International Education (OIIE) and Cultural Extremes we offer numerous programs that offer ESL training to students in poorer communities and even training for teachers—both in English and in Teaching Techniques. In 2004 TEFL International trained approximately 1,000 teachers. If each of these teachers go back to their schools and then teach 500 students per year, we have impacted the lives of 500,000 students every year! So when you are deciding which course to take, why not take the course that not only trains you to be a teacher, but also supports the community. |
